COLUMBIA, SC (May 3, 2011) – An Abbeville man laughs every time he tells how he won $200,000 scratching a lottery ticket Saturday at Rosenberg’s Sprits in Abbeville.

The winner can’t get over how he ran out of gas and ended up walking the rest of the way into town for a haircut and a lottery ticket worth $200,000.

He told lottery officials the Cash Blowout winnings will make a great down payment on a farm.

As of this release, two top prizes of $200,000 remain in the Cash Blowout game. Odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 440,000.

Rosenberg’s Spirits received $2,000, a 1 percent retailer commission.

Approximately 97 cents of every dollar spent by players on the South Carolina Education Lottery is returned to the state in the form of funding for education, prizes, retailer commissions, and payment to contractors for goods and services.
