Third Time’s a Charm for Palmetto Cash 5 Player

COLUMBIA, SC (February 17, 2014) – A Charleston man’s third time playing Palmetto Cash 5 was golden.

Five numbers he picked out of thin air – 12, 14, 21, 27, and 32 – won him $400,000 in Saturday, February 8’s drawing.

“I was shaking,” he told lottery officials describing the realization he had won.

He says he’s won $5 or $10 before but never been this lucky.

“I don’t know why it happened to me,” he said. “I can’t explain it and can’t understand it.”

Debt free, he plans to honor the numbers that got him there by continuing to play them once a month.

For selling the claimed Palmetto Cash 5 ticket, Kangaroo Express #3356 in Charleston received a commission of $4,000.

The odds of winning $400,000 are 1 in 4,015,536.

South Carolina’s own Palmetto Cash 5 game celebrates nine years of winning this month. Palmetto Cash 5 offers a top prize of $100,000 and players can win up to $500,000 by purchasing the Power-Up multiplier for an additional $1. To date, Palmetto Cash 5 has created 280 top prize winners who have won more than $53 million.
