COLUMBIA, SC (May 7, 2014) – Winning $100,000 didn’t seem real to a Charleston woman, no matter how many times she checked her ticket.
“Did I really win?” she repeatedly asked herself.
She did, indeed, win the April 29th Palmetto Cash 5 drawing with a combination of family birth dates and ages she’s played on and off for the last couple of years.
The winning numbers were 1, 18, 29, 31, and 37. She matched every one of them.
Even after accepting the check for her winnings, she still had doubts.
“Is this really happening?” she asked.
Had the winner spent the extra dollar for Power-Up, her $100,000 prize would have increased to $500,000.
Odds of winning $100,000 playing Palmetto Cash 5 are 1 in 501,942
For selling the claimed ticket, Blue Water #7 in N. Charleston received a commission of $1,000.
To date, lottery play has resulted in more than $3.3 billion transferred to support education.
