COLUMBIA, SC (June 22, 2021) – A Lancaster man let his girlfriend scratch his lottery ticket and judging by her reaction it was good news.
“She was screaming and jumping around,” he told South Carolina Education Lottery officials.
He looked and his ticket won $500,000.
“It hasn’t sunk in yet,” he said. “I’m still in disbelief.”
He purchased the $500,000 Extreme ticket at the Community Discount Beverage on Lynwood Drive in Lancaster and won the last half-a-million dollar top prize available in the game.
The winner says he has a lot of options to explore now, but tops on the list is making his girlfriend happy.
The winner overcame odds of 1 in 660,000 to win $500,000 in the ($10) $500,000 Extreme game.
Community Discount Beverage in Lancaster received a commission of $5,000 for selling the claimed ticket.
