COLUMBIA, SC (May 14, 2021) – A Midlands lottery winner credits good deeds for his $30,000 win.
“I always do for others and put others first, and I’ve taught my family to pay it forward,” he said.
The winner told South Carolina Education Lottery officials that he felt like his good deeds were rewarded when he picked out the $2 lottery ticket at Cuzs Corner on S. Congress St. in Winnsboro. He says a calm feeling came over him when he scratched off the $30,000 top prize.
“I’m not splurging on myself,” he said.
The winner overcame odds of 1 in 432,000 to win the last top prize of $30,000 in the ($2) 5X The Money game.
Cuzs Corner in Winnsboro received a commission of $300 for selling the claimed ticket.
