COLUMBIA, SC (January 30, 2025) – A Florence lottery player’s lucky numbers have won him a $180,000 jackpot.
“It’s time for me to retire,” the winner told South Carolina Education Lottery officials.
His working days are over after winning big on a Palmetto Cash 5 ticket he purchased at the Yana Food Mart on W. Palmetto St. in Florence. The ticket matched all five numbers drawn on September 12 (1 - 3 - 9 - 17 - 19).
And the winner is still playing those same numbers. “It’s just a chance,” he said. “I feel blessed.”
For selling the claimed ticket, Yana Food Mart in Florence received a commission of $1,600.
The odds of winning a Palmetto Cash 5 jackpot are 1 in 850,668.
