COLUMBIA, SC (November 27, 2007) November has proved to be a profitable month for Palmetto Cash 5 players! Four players have each won the top prize in as many weeks, totaling $900,000 in match five winnings!
Three of the winners wisely paid an extra dollar for the Power-Up multiplier and increased the amount of their prize. The winning tickets were purchased in Santee, Anderson, Charleston and Columbia.
The jackpot for matching all five drawn numbers in Palmetto Cash 5 is $100,000. When a player purchases the Power-Up multiplier , the amount of the prize can be multiplied 2, 3, 4, or 5 times, thus increasing the top prize to as much as $500,000.
In September, the South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL) expanded the number of Palmetto Cash 5 draws from three nights a week to five nights a week. Palmetto Cash 5 players purchase an average of $620,000 each week in tickets.
Since its inception in 2002, the support the South Carolina Education Lottery has received from players and retailers is responsible for the General Assembly appropriating more than $1.74 billion for educational purposes through fiscal year 2008.
