COLUMBIA, SC (November 27, 2007) – It’s beginning to look a lot like the Caribbean for two South Carolina Education Lottery winners and their guests! They’ll soon set sail aboard a luxury cruise liner courtesy of SCEL and AAA Vacations!
Robert Armstrong of West Columbia and Andrea Hopwood of Dalzell are the Grand Prize winners in the Cruise Away with Palmetto Cash 5 Promotion. Launched in September to coincide with Palmetto Cash 5 drawings expanding from three to five nights a week, the Cruise Away with Palmetto Cash 5 Promotion generated thousands of entries. Players around the state mailed in their entry forms for a chance to win a seven-night Caribbean cruise on board a Carnival® Cruise ship. The Grand Prize winners were announced during a special event at AAA Vacations in Columbia at the Village of Sandhill on November 15.
Palmetto Cash 5 drawings are televised live each evening at 6:59 p.m. on SCEL’s draw partners around the Palmetto State.
Since its inception in 2002, the support the South Carolina Education Lottery has received from players and retailers is responsible for the General Assembly appropriating more than $1.74 billion for educational purposes through fiscal year 2008.
