COLUMBIA, SC (September 27, 2007) – A winning Powerball® ticket sold in Charleston worth $600,000 has been claimed by its lucky owner!

The ticket was sold at Sky Mart/BP located at 1924 Sam Rittenburg Blvd. in Charleston. The ticket matched all five white ball numbers, winning $200,000. The player, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased the PowerPlay® option. The PowerPlay® multiplier drawn was a 3 which increased the player’s winnings to $600,000.

The winning white ball numbers were 4, 9, 18, 43, and 55. The red Powerball® was 3, and the PowerPlay® multiplier was 3. No one matched all six numbers to win the September 22, 2007 Powerball® jackpot, but across the state, 24,507 tickets matched at least one number to win a prize.

Since its inception in 2002, the support the South Carolina Education Lottery has received from players and retailers is responsible for the General Assembly appropriating more than $1.74 billion for educational purposes through fiscal year 2008.

The estimated jackpot for the Wednesday, September 26, drawing is $61 million!

Please remember to play responsibly!
