Hundreds of thousands of dollars are waiting to be claimed following the Saturday, September 8 Powerball® drawing! Two Powerball® tickets sold in the Palmetto State are worth $200,000 each! Executive Director Ernie Passailaigue, of the South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL), said the tickets matched all five white ball numbers and were just one number away from winning the estimated Powerball® jackpot of $15 million.

One winning ticket was sold at the Carowinds Exxon Shop located at 240 Carowinds Boulevard in Fort Mill. A second winning ticket was sold at KMO #108 located at 3420 North Main Street in Anderson.

The winning white ball numbers were 7, 12, 28, 30, and 48. The red Powerball® was 40, and the Power Play® multiplier was 2. No one hit the $15 million Powerball® jackpot, but across the state, 19,722 tickets matched at least one number to win a prize.

Players have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes. Winnings greater than $500 up to $1 million can be claimed at one of SCEL’s four claims centers located in Greenville, Columbia, Charleston and Fort Mill. Winnings in excess of $100,000 must be claimed in person.

Since its inception in 2002, the support the South Carolina Education Lottery has received from players and retailers is responsible for the General Assembly appropriating more than $1.74 billion for educational purposes through fiscal year 2008.

The estimated jackpot for the Wednesday September 12 drawing is $20 million, with the cash option of $9.4 million!

Please remember to play responsibly!
