"THAT'S THE TICKET" IN MYRTLE BEACH!
8/24/2007 8:26:44 AM

The South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL) is your ticket to the last great bash of the summer. Come join us at the 2nd Annual Beach, Boogie & BBQ Festival in Myrtle Beach on Labor Day weekend, August 31 – September 1, 2007.

SCEL is proud to be a sponsor of the event showcasing the Lottery’s THAT’S THE TICKET summer promotion grand prize event. Gathering on Center Stage, eight pre-selected finalists will scratch oversized Cash Bonanza Riches tickets to reveal either a splendid first-class trip, valued at $50,000, or $5,000 cash! Grand prize trip winners can choose from one of three exciting destinations: New York City, Las Vegas or Hollywood. In the lottery tent, festival goers can spin the prize wheel for a chance to win various treasures. The lottery will also offer second chance drawings for iPod® nanos. Online tickets, such as Powerball®, and instant tickets will be sold during the Beach, Boogie & BBQ Festival. The THAT’S THE TICKET grand prize event will be held on Saturday, September 1, beginning at 4 p.m.

The Beach, Boogie & BBQ Festival takes place at the former Air Force Base at Valor Park off Farrow Parkway in Myrtle Beach. The festival features family-friendly entertainment and events, live music, arts and crafts, the official barbeque competition of South Carolina, giveaways and more. Admission is free. Visit www.sunfunfestival.com/beachboogiebbq for a complete schedule of special events.

Since its inception in 2002, the South Carolina Education Lottery has launched more than 220 instant games and five online games. Currently, SCEL offers approximately 30 instant games and four online games at more than 3,500 lottery retailers statewide. Traditionally, SCEL produces three to four new games each month in a variety of themes, play styles, and price points of $1 - $10. During the past five years, the support the South Carolina Education Lottery has received from players and retailers is responsible for the General Assembly appropriating more than $1.7 billion for educational purposes through fiscal year 2008.
