COLUMBIA, SC: (January 3, 2007): Nearly 70 percent of the South Carolina Education Lottery’s (SCEL) Carolina Millionaire Raffle tickets have been sold for the January 8 drawing. Only 340,735 tickets remained as of Tuesday, January 2.

Sales for Carolina Millionaire Raffle began on October 30, 2006, and are to continue until Midnight on Sunday, January 7, or until all one million tickets are sold.

SCEL will award 766 cash prizes totaling $5.5 million. The game features four $1 million top prizes, two $100,000 second-tier prizes, sixty $10,000 third-tier prizes, and 700 fourth-tier prizes of $1,000.

Only the top four prizes will be televised during half-time of the National Championship football game on Monday, January 8 and will be carried on local FOX affiliates. The remaining 762 raffle numbers, along with the four top prize numbers, will be available on the Lottery’s website, www.sceducationlottery.com, or at SCEL’s 3,500 retail locations statewide.

Lottery officials want to remind Carolina Millionaire Raffle players to sign the back of their tickets and keep them in a safe place until the January 8 drawing. To be considered a winning ticket, the raffle number printed on the Carolina Millionaire Raffle ticket must match the exact sequenced combination drawn.
