Four SC Education Lottery players will win $1 million each.

The South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL) wants you to be its next millionaire! SCEL will award more than $5 million in prizes with the best-ever on-line game odds on January 8, 2007 – the same day the Lottery will celebrate its 5th Anniversary.

Only one million raffle tickets will be sold. For $10, players have a 1 in 250,000 chance of winning a million dollars. There is only one raffle number per ticket, and like a traditional raffle game, players do not pick their numbers. Tickets are printed in numerical order as they are sold throughout the state.

Launch events will be held at the following locations on Tuesday, November 28, 2007:

Columbia (11am-1pm): Jimmy’s Mart located at 9900 Two Notch Road
Florence (11:30am-1:30pm): Edick’s Amoco located at 400 Pamplico Highway
York (11am-1pm): S & G Convenience Store located at 328 South Congress Street

In addition to the four $1 million prizes, the Carolina Millionaire Raffle will offer 762 additional cash prizes. Two lucky Carolina Millionaire Raffle tickets will be worth $100,000. Sixty SCEL raffle players will win $10,000 each and 700 raffle players will win $1,000. A total of $5.5 million will be given away in the Carolina Millionaire Raffle.

To win a prize, the raffle number printed on the ticket must exactly match the raffle number randomly selected in the drawing for a Carolina Millionaire Raffle prize. A complete list of winning raffle numbers will be available at lottery retailers and on the website at www.sceducationlottery.com on January 8, 2007.

Odds of winning a $1 million top prize and 1 in 250,000; odds of winning a $100,000 prize are 1 in 500,000; odds winning a $10,000 prize are 1 in 16,666 and odds of winning a $1,000 prize are 1 in 1,428. Overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 1,305.
