Contestants will appear on Carolina Power Deal!

Columbia, SC: Eight contestants will assemble in Columbia this weekend to participate in the first taping of the South Carolina Education Lottery’s (SCEL) game show, Carolina Power Deal! The taping will take place at SCEL’s studios in Columbia.

This weekend the following SCEL players will each picture themselves on a new, statewide promotional game show and compete for a chance to win up to $20,000:

John Ek, of Ninety Six
Susan Segroves, of Lexington
Lottie Copeland, of Florence
Robert Jones, of Greenville
Kevin Horton, Leesville
Harold Sprouse, of Gaffney
Howard Sumner, of Sumter
Kim Dubose, of Sumter

The minimum prize a player could win is $2,000.

Carolina Power Deal, a two-minute promotional game show, will be played only in South Carolina in conjunction with Powerball® and PowerPlay®. When SCEL players purchase $5 in Powerball® along with $5 in PowerPlay®, a total of a $10 purchase, an entry form will dispense from the lottery terminal. Players must complete the information on the entry form and mail to the address shown on the form. Contestants will be selected in a drawing from the entries received.

Here’s how the promotional game will be played. Players will be shown a number from 1 through 39, randomly pre-selected before the game is played. The player then guesses if the next number revealed is greater than or less than the number shown. If the player guesses correctly, the prize amount increases and he/she then moves on to the next prize level. If the player guesses incorrectly, he/she could lose up to half of the prize amount. Players will win at least $2,000 with a top prize of $20,000!
