COLUMBIA, SC: This weekend, you can watch a Rock Hill man try and become $20,000 richer on the South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL) players very own televised game show, Carolina Power Deal.

James Robinson, of Rock Hill, will be this week’s Carolina Power Deal contestant. You can watch him play on WFXB in Myrtle Beach, WCBD in Charleston, WHHI in Hilton Head, WLTX in Columbia, WRDW in Aiken, WHNS in Greenville/Spartanburg, and WJZY in Charlotte, NC. Please check your local listings for times and dates or visit www.sceducationlottery.com.

Carolina Power Deal, a two-minute promotional game show, is played only in South Carolina in conjunction with Powerball® and PowerPlay®. When SCEL players purchase $5 in Powerball® along with $5 in PowerPlay®, a total $10 purchase, an entry form will dispense from the lottery terminal. Players must complete the information on the entry form and mail to the address printed on the form.

Here’s how the promotional game is played. The contestant is shown a number from 1 through 39, randomly pre-selected before the game is played. The contestant then guesses if the next number revealed is higher or lower than the number shown. If the contestant guesses correctly, the prize amount increases and the contestant then moves on to the next prize level. If the contestant guesses incorrectly, he/she could lose up to half of the prize amount. Players will win at least $2,000 with a top prize of $20,000!

Be sure to watch Carolina Power Deal to find out how much Robinson wins! Last week’s winner, Robert Oxner, of Fort Mill, won $12,000!

The next drawing for contestants for Carolina Power Deal will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2006. Entries must be mailed by Friday, October 6.

NOTE: ***Robinson is available for media interviews. Please contact Tara Robertson at 803-737-2399 to set-up an interview***
