SCEL Opens New Claims Center
4/18/2006 10:51:58 AM

Columbia, SC: On Wednesday, April 19, 2006, the South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL) will open its newest lottery redemption center in Fort Mill. The event will mark the opening of SCEL’s fourth claims center.

“I’m ecstatic about this grand opening event,” said Executive Director Ernie Passailaigue. “We are pleased to offer our players in the northern part of the state a place where they can redeem their lottery winnings.”

The Fort Mill Claims Center is located at 377 Carowinds Blvd., Suite 117, Fort Mill, SC 29708. The center’s main number is 803-548-3232. The grand opening event will occur from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. SCEL players who bring in five non-winning tickets can spin the promotional wheel and win prizes while supplies last.

Starting immediately, all four claims centers will cash winning tickets up to and including $200,000.

“Both the number of winners and amounts won have increased significantly since our launch four years ago,” said Passailaigue. “Raising the redemption amount will add just another convenience for our player base.”

SCEL’s three other redemption centers are located at: 18 Augusta St. in Greenville; 537 Long Point Road, Suite 105 in Charleston; and 717-C Lady Street in Columbia. All claims centers are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Prizes greater than $200,000 must be claimed at the Claims Center in Columbia.
