HOPKINS MAN IS $200,000 RICHER!
3/9/2006 12:52:42 PM

Columbia, SC: The life of Hopkins resident O. C. Evans II will never be the same. He just won $200,000 on the South Carolina Education Lotterys (SCEL) Palmetto Cash 5 game. Evans also paid the extra $1 to play the Power-Up option, which multiplied his $100,000 winnings to $200,000.

2, 9, 17, 25, 27, Evans said as he memorized his winning numbers at the Columbia Claims Center. I just wanted that Power-Up number to be five. Evans then added the numbers had no special meaning to him. I always win on quick pick.

Evans, retired from the military and post office, says he was out for his morning stroll when he stopped by the local store to check the numbers. I grabbed the sheet and came home. My son was home.

I showed him the ticket next to the [computer] screen, said Evans. He didnt believe me.

Evans purchased his Palmetto Cash 5 ticket at the Last Stop located at 4000 Leesburg Road in Hopkins.

I plan to take a vacation to Hawaii, said Evans. No wife, no children a vacation just by myself!

Palmetto Cash 5 is the largest instate jackpot game available from SCEL and features a multiplier option, Power-Up. Palmetto Cash 5 drawings are held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 6:59 p.m.
