(Columbia, SC: November 17, 2005) At the recommendation of Scientific Games International (SGI), South Carolina Education Lottery’s (SCEL) online vendor, SCEL suspended sales for Pick 3 and Pick 4 games this afternoon. Cashing of Pick 3 and Pick 4 were also suspended. A software release, implemented by SGI this morning, did not perform as anticipated.

The problems are being addressed and all appropriate steps are being taken to ensure the integrity of SCEL’s games. Sales and cashing of Palmetto Cash 5 and Powerball® were not affected.

Sales and cashing of Pick 3 and Pick 4 games will resume as soon as possible. The nightly drawing will be held as scheduled at 6:59 p.m. this evening. We regret this system error has occurred and any inconvenience experienced by either our retailers or our players.
