SCEL Players can win a new car with PowerPlay!
5/9/2005

Players must mail in their entry form for weekly drawings!

Columbia, SC (May 9, 2005): South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL) players now have a chance to win a 2005 Chevy Cobalt SS! The vehicle is courtesy of LOVE Chevrolet, located in the Columbia area.

Here’s how the promotion works: When players purchase $5 in Powerball® with $5 in PowerPlay®, a total $10 purchase, an entry form will dispense from the lottery terminal. Players must completely fill out and mail the entry to the appropriate address noted on the entry form.

“Partnering with a local vendor is one way the Lottery promotes its games to South Carolinians,” says Tara Robertson, SCEL’s Public Relations Manager. “LOVE Chevrolet’s theme is ‘The POWER of LOVE,’ so what better way to work with them than with Powerball® and PowerPlay®. It just seems like a natural fit. ”

The promotion beings on May 9 and ends on July 1. One semi-finalist will be chosen each Friday for seven weeks. At the end of the promotion, the seven semi-finalists will come to Columbia for the 2005 Chevy Cobalt SS grand prize drawing on July 27.

Players can stop by their favorite lottery retailers for more information. The “Drive Away with PowerPlay” official rules can be found on the Lottery’s website, www.sceducationlottery.com. For details about Chevrolet’s 2005 Cobalt SS, log onto LOVE Chevrolet’s website at www.loveautoteam.com.
