Clean$weep is a second-chance promotion aimed at litter control

Columbia, SC (March 1, 2005): Three lucky South Carolinians have won a Dave Lennox Elite or Signature product in conjunction with the South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL) and PalmettoPride’s Clean$weep promotion. Clean$weep is a second-chance promotion that urges players to properly dispose of their non-winning tickets. Participants are eligible to win grand prizes provided by Lennox Industries.

“SCEL is pleased to partner with PalmettoPride and Lennox Industries to help keep South Carolina clean and beautiful,” said Ernie Passailaigue, SCEL’s Executive Director. “At the same time, it gives our players added value.”

Passailaigue added, “This is an excellent avenue for disposing of lottery tickets and also encouraging a behavioral change in our citizens relative to the negative impact of litter. Lennox Industries’ participation adds to the educational dollars provided by SCEL since their fine products are contributed at no cost to the taxpayers.”

Winners may select one of four Dave Lennox Elite or Signature environmentally friendly prizes. Prizes include a heat pump, an air conditioner, a furnace or an indoor air quality product. The winners from the February 23, 2005 are: Jean Jasmine of Winnsboro; Ephrem Conyers, Jr. of Manning; and Jean Davis of Williamston.

The winners from the December 29, 2004 drawing are: Valerie Williams, of Eastover; Sandra Bishop, of Anderson; and Kim Campbell, of Greenville.

“It’s great,” said Williams. “I won $500 with Clean$weep last year. I just think it’s great I can do something with my non-winning tickets.”

Williams has opted for the Dave Lennox Elite or Signature air conditioner. She plans to give the air conditioner to her mother.

More than 248,000 tickets have been collected in this year’s Clean$weep promotion.
