CAROLINA 5 MOVES TO THREE NIGHTS A WEEK!

Columbia, SC: South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL) players will soon have three times the fun at winning $100,000 taxes paid with Carolina 5! Beginning March 1, 2004, the SCEL will launch its third Carolina 5 drawing to South Carolinians on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Carolina 5 is also moving to a new draw time of 6:59p.m. along with the Pick3 and Pick4 drawing.

Carolina 5 drawings currently occur every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m.

The top prize in Carolina 5 is $149,059. After state and federal taxes are withheld, players win $100,000. To date, players have won more than $16.5 million in cash prizes in Carolina 5. Of that, 87 top prizes have been awarded. Just recently, one North Carolina woman won the top prize six times winning a total of $600,000 taxes paid!

To help celebrate the launch, the SCEL will host several launch day events at retail locations statewide. Promotional items will be given away at the events with the purchase of five (5) Carolina 5 tickets. Players are encouraged to attend the events at the following locations:

In June 2002, the SCEL launched Carolina 5 as its second on-line game. In May 2003, the SCEL introduced Carolina 5ís second nightly drawing on Tuesdays.

Players choose five unique numbers ranging from 1-36. Prizes ranging from $5-$100,000 taxes paid! Players have the three ways to win, now three days a week! Overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 78. The odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 376,992.
