Columbia, SC: South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL) players won big last night in the lottery’s newest on-line game, Pick 4. The winning numbers drawn in last night’s Pick 4 game were 2, 1, 6 and 2.
According to the lottery’s gaming system, the 215 players who bet on the four winning numbers won a total of $85,000. The SCEL took in over $165,000.
“We are extremely pleased at the initial support of this game,” said Tony Cooper, SCEL’s chief operating officer. “Pick 4 is a perfect addition to our product mix, giving our players an opportunity to win thousands of dollars nightly.”
Although the launch was very successful, an error in the validation process was discovered. “Less than a dozen tickets were validated as winning tickets when they were actually non-wining tickets,” said Cooper. “The situation was identified and resolved immediately.”
Since January 2002, the SCEL has returned more than $178 million to the State of South Carolina’s Lottery Education Fund. All of the SCEL’s net proceeds pay for specific educational programs, including South Carolina’s HOPE, LIFE and Palmetto Fellows scholarships; National Guard; Lottery Tuition Assistance for two-year programs within the state’s university system; a wide range of technical upgrades for state colleges and universities; school buses; local libraries and gambling addiction services.
