Final Pigskin Playoff Winners Drawn

Columbia, SC: All football season long, the South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL) has sponsored the Pigskin Playoff second chance promotion.

Pigskin Playoff gave lottery players the chance to mail in their non-winning Pigskin Playoff instant tickets and Carolina 5 tickets for a number of prizes including Carolina an/or Clemson tickets and other paraphernalia.

36 semi-finalists were entered into the grand prize drawing, which took place on Monday, November 18. Of the 36 semi-finalists, William Ward, Josephine Alston, and Jeremy Dunlap won tailgating baskets and football helmets of the school indicated on their entry.

The grand prize winner, Lois Bannister also received a grand prize package that includes 4 tickets to the Carolina/Clemson game at Clemson on November 23, 2002.

Since January 2002, the SCEL has returned over $112 million dollars to the State of South Carolina’s Lottery Education Fund. All of SCEL’s net proceeds go to pay for specific educational programs, including South Carolina’s HOPE, LIFE, Palmetto Fellows, National Guard and 2 year institution’s scholarship programs.
