Columbia, SC: South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL) players can now play the newest instant ticket games: Magic Numbers, Queen of Hearts and Red Hot Cash. The tickets went on sale in over 3,500 lottery retailers statewide on September 3, 2002.
Magic Numbers is this month’s $1 game. The purple, gold and blue ticket offers a top prize of $4,000. To reveal the play area, lottery players need to scratch the entire ticket. If the player scratches off three like “magic numbers”, as shown in the magic number box, in a tic-tac-toe style, they win the prize in the prize box. The overall odds are 1:4.92
You can be the Queen of Hearts and win up to $10,000 on this $2 instant ticket. Each player has 8 chances to win on this white and purple ticket featuring a “queen” deck of cards. This game plays like the card game, War. Players have to scratch the entire play area. If the player’s card beats the Dealer’s card, they win the prize shown for that hand. The overall odds are 1: 4.85
And the SCEL is ending the summer with some Red Hot Cash. This fiery red $2 ticket pays out up to $15,000. Players can win up to 10 times in this instant game. When scratching the entire play area, if your numbers match any of the HOT SPOT NUMBERS, you win the prize shown for that number. If your matching number is RED, players double the prize shown for that number. The overall odds are 1:4.89
Players must be 18 years or older to play the games offered by the lottery. Prizes up to $500 can be redeemed at a lottery retailer. Prizes $501 to $25,000 can be redeemed at any of the 3 lottery redemption centers.
Since January 2002, the SCEL has returned over $92 million dollars to the State of South Carolina’s Lottery Education Fund.
