Fort Mill Man Credits Fortune Cookie for Lottery Win
11/8/2017 9:47:38 AM

COLUMBIA, SC (November 8, 2017) – Don’t discount that message inside your next fortune cookie. A Fort Mill man’s fortune led him the play the Lottery and win big.

His fortune read: “Your luck’s about to change.”

He interpreted that to mean he should buy a lottery ticket.

And his fortune came true to the tune of $125,000.

“I’m pumped,” he told lottery officials awaiting a check for his winnings in Columbia yesterday.

After years of renting, he says he’s buying his first house.

And he’s hoping for more good luck tonight. He also bought a Powerball ticket. Tonight’s jackpot drawing is for $75 million.

Now that the prize is paid, QuikTrip #1048 in Indian Land receives a $1,250 commission for selling the winning ticket.

One top prize of $125,000 remains in the $5 Big Money Maker game, at odds of 1 in 480,000.
