$1 Million Lottery Winner Picks Up the Check at McDonalds
6/16/2017 12:00:24 PM

COLUMBIA, SC (June 16, 2017) – A Columbia man who won a $1 million lottery prize this week is taking his coworkers out for burgers and shakes at McDonalds.

He says he’s saving his winnings to retire soon and travel more.

“I’m debt free now,” the millionaire said.

He won $1 million on Tuesday when a non-winning ticket he’d entered online through the Lottery’s Players’ Club was selected from the more than 627,000 entries received in the Black Ice Millions Second-Chance Promotion.

His wife was the first to know. She read an email sent by the Lottery notifying her husband of the win.

“She told me we won $100,000,” he said. “I read the email and told her, ‘You’d better count the zeros again.’”
