Lucky number 14

Myrtle Beach, SC: Larry Chestnut received an extra special birthday gift after the South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL) awarded him $2,000 for his winnings on the instant ticket, Raceway Cash.

Chestnut purchased the ticket on August 13, but waited until today, August 14, his birthday, to scratch it. The winning numbers on his ticket were 6 and 14. Raceway Cash is the Education Lottery’s 14th ticket. Coincidence or a new lucky number?

Chestnut purchased his winning ticket from the Food Chief #3226 on Hwy 501 in Myrtle Beach.

In its first six months, the SCEL has returned over $80 million dollars to the state of South Carolina for education. All SCEL profits go to pay for specific educational programs. These include South Carolina’s HOPE, LIFE, Palmetto Fellows, National Guard scholarship programs; Lottery Tuition Assistance for 2 year programs within the state’s university system; a wide range of technical upgrades for state colleges and universities; school buses; local libraries and gambling addiction.
