Good things come to those that wait

Charleston, SC: Dorine Boykin will tell you that a little patience good things come to those who wait. On Monday, August 12, 2002, the South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL) awarded Boykin $2000 for her winnings in the instant ticket, Shark Cash.

Boykin is an enthusiastic player of the South Carolina Education Lottery Instant Games, occasionally buying a couple of tickets to try her luck, but never winning any big cash prizes. Last week, after purchasing two each of the Shark Cash BBQ Bucks tickets, she took her tickets home, scratching them to reveal that one of the Shark Cash tickets was a $2000 winner.

Boykin won after purchasing the tickets from the Quick Stop #3358 on Sam Rittenburg Blvd in Charleston.

In its first six months, the SCEL has returned over $80 million dollars to the state of South Carolina for education. All SCEL profits go to pay for specific educational programs. These include South Carolina’s HOPE, LIFE, Palmetto Fellows, National Guard scholarship programs; Lottery Tuition Assistance for 2 year programs within the state’s university system; a wide range of technical upgrades for state colleges and universities; school buses; local libraries and gambling addiction.
