Pelzer Lottery Winner Plans to Surprise Wife
3/2/2017 12:32:41 PM

COLUMBIA, SC (March 2, 2017) – A Pelzer man has a surprise for his wife.

She’s coming home from work to a richer man.

Hubby won $25,000 playing Mega Millions®.

“It should be an exciting afternoon,” he said.

Missing the jackpot by one number was already pretty exciting.

His Mega Millions® ticket for the February 21 drawing matched four of the first five numbers drawn and the gold Megaball® (9, 21, 30, 32, 75 and Megaball® 9). Purchasing the Megaplier® multiplied the $5,000 prize to $25,000 when a “5” multiplier was selected.

The odds of winning $5,000 playing Mega Millions® are 1 in 739,688.

Oh, he has one more surprise for his wife—a vacation.

For selling the claimed ticket, Cokers in Piedmont received a commission of $250.

The estimated jackpot for Friday night’s Mega Millions® drawing is $83 million.
