Rock Hill Powerball® Winner Feels Blessed
1/12/2017 10:06:23 AM

COLUMBIA, SC (January 12, 2017) – A Rock Hill man was headed out the door to church on Sunday when he remembered his Powerball® ticket.

“Honey, I’m going to skip church,” he called out to his wife.

He spent the rest of the morning checking and rechecking the numbers on his lottery ticket.

He won $100,000.

Was it divine intervention? Possibly, our winner’s certain he was being prepared for what was about to come his way.

Last week a friend of his won the Lottery and he rode with him to Columbia to cash in the winning ticket.

“So I knew how to get here,” he said, when he arrived with his own winning ticket, that matched four white ball numbers and the red Powerball® number drawn on Saturday, January 7 (3, 12, 24, 37, 63 and Powerball® 10). His $50,000 win was doubled with the purchase of PowerPlay® for $1.

“And I’m leaving here debt free,” he said.

The odds of matching four white ball numbers and the red Powerball® number are 1 in 913,129. The odds of a 2X multiplier being selected are 1 in 1.79 when the jackpot is $150 million or less.

For selling the claimed ticket, QuikTrip #1098 in Rock Hill received a commission of $1,000.

The estimated jackpot for Saturday’s Powerball® drawing is $121 million.
