Sumter $1 Million Winner to Pay off House
8/2/2016 4:21:37 PM

COLUMBIA, SC (August 2, 2016) – A Sumter woman checked her Powerball® ticket this weekend and found she won $1 million.

“I was shaking,” she said.

Sentimental numbers she picked out and stuck with for a year made her a millionaire on Saturday night (11, 17, 21, 23, 32 and Powerball®: 5).

“I’m going to keep playing my precious numbers,” she told lottery officials today when she cashed in the winning ticket.

She’s also paying off her house and taking care of her family’s needs.

“A burden has been lifted,” she said.

The odds of winning $1 million playing Powerball® are 1 in 11,688,054.

For selling the claimed ticket, Devikinc in Sumter received a commission of $10,000.

The Powerball® jackpot for Wednesday night’s drawing is an estimated $40 million.

Good luck, South Carolina!
