No Winner, Mega Millions® Jackpot Grows to $508 MILLION
7/6/2016 10:02:45 AM

COLUMBIA, SC (July 6, 2016) – Friday night’s Mega Millions® drawing just got a lot more interesting. The jackpot has rolled to $508 million after last night’s drawing failed to produce a winner.

The jackpot is the seventh biggest on record, with a cash payout to the winner of $357 million.

Tickets for this more than half-a-billion dollar drawing are available at South Carolina lottery retailers statewide. Tickets cost $1, and in South Carolina must be purchased by 10 p.m. for Friday’s 11 p.m. drawing.

This jackpot has been growing since March 11, and has now rolled 34 times without a winner.

The odds of winning the Mega Millions® jackpot are about 1 in 259 million, slightly better than Powerball’s® 1 in 293 million odds.

The Lottery urges players to play responsibly and safeguard your prize by signing the back of your ticket.

“It only takes one ticket to win,” cautions the SC Education Lottery’s Executive Director Paula Harper Bethea. “Now is not the time to spend money you do not have on tickets. Only play if you have an extra $1 to spare, otherwise let it go.”

Play responsibly, South Carolina!
