Greer Stay at Home Mom Wins $300,000

COLUMBIA, SC (May 19, 2016) – A Greer stay at home mom’s calendar is booked with meetings this week. She’s sitting down with financial planners to discuss a $300,000 lottery win.

She won the prize from the South Carolina Education Lottery on Saturday.

She told lottery officials yesterday that she has a small, weekly budget for playing the Lottery, which she spent on the winning, $10 Mighty Jumbo Bucks scratch-off at the Piedmont Petro Corner Mart #1 on Wade Hampton Blvd. in Taylors.

“I’m still in denial,” she said of the big win.

Her husband, who was out of town at the time, says there’s nothing like coming home to a $300,000 surprise.

“She showed me a picture of the ticket on her iPad,” he said.

The couple is playing it smart and starting a college fund, investing in an IRA, and taking care of a few projects around the house. Their one splurge is a vacation.

“I’ve never had this much money,” the mom said. “This is crazy.”

As of this release, seven top prizes of $300,000 remain in the new, $10 Mighty Jumbo Bucks game that went on sale May 10. The odds of winning $300,000 are 1 in 750,000.

For selling the claimed ticket, Piedmont Petro Corner Mart #1 in Taylors received a commission of $3,000.
