4/18/2016 10:58:48 AM

COLUMBIA, SC (April 18, 2016) – A Columbia woman started her workday with a quarter-of-a-million dollar payday.

On the way to work, she stopped at the Xpress Zone 2 on Bush River Rd. in Columbia and bought a Carolina Green lottery ticket. She got to work early, so she sat in her car in the parking lot and scratched off the $250,000 win. She says she folded the winning ticket, put it in her pocket and walked on in to work.

“This is not real,” she kept telling herself at her desk.

At lunchtime she took leave and cashed in the prize.

The winner says she’s buying a home and paying off her student loans with the prize money.

“I still want to pinch myself,” she said.

As of this release, one top prize of $250,000 remains in the $10 Carolina Green game. The odds of winning $250,000 are 1 in 696,000.

For selling the claimed ticket, Xpress Zone 2 in Columbia received a commission of $2,500.
