Blythewood Woman’s Bet on Family Birthdates Wins $300,000
3/11/2016 12:00:13 PM

COLUMBIA, SC (March 11, 2016) – A Blythewood woman who’s played the same lottery numbers for nearly two years has won $300,000.

Her bet on family birthdates was golden in Tuesday’s Palmetto Cash 5 drawing, when she matched all five numbers drawn (5, 16, 19, 30, and 33).

“And I’m not playing anymore,” she informed lottery officials yesterday awaiting a check for her winnings.

She figures her numbers are good once, and that’s all she needs to pay off her house, her car and have money left over for retirement.

“I’m excited,” she said. “I won!”

And she’s not the only Palmetto Cash 5 winner that’s struck it rich recently at the Sharpe Shoppe #4 on Wilson Blvd. in Blythewood.

Almost two weeks ago the store sold three top prize winning Palmetto Cash 5 tickets worth $200,000 each to a local man. This week’s win brings the store’s total to $900,000, earning them a $9,000 commission.

And the recent winner says she’s enjoying her 15 minutes of fame. “I texted my son to say they were talking about me on TV,” she said.

Spending the extra $1 for Power-Up multiplied her $100,000 prize to $300,000 when a “3” was drawn.

The odds of winning $300,000 playing Palmetto Cash 5 are 1 in 1,606,214.
