$250,000 Lottery Winner: “I was weak in the knees.”

COLUMBIA, SC (November 16, 2015) – A Travelers Rest woman couldn’t stand up after winning a quarter-of-a-million dollar lottery prize.

“I was weak in the knees,” she said.

So she sat in her driveway for a half hour, maybe longer, and passed the time snapping pictures of the winning ticket with her cell phone and texting friends to say she’d won the Lottery.

The winner told lottery officials she had a good feeling when she bought two Diamond 9’s tickets at the Shri Khodiyar Inc. convenience store on Frontage Rd. in Travelers Rest. The first one she scratched won her the $250,000.

“This is life changing,” she said. “And it’s a new start.”

Three top prizes of $250,000 remain in the $10 Diamond 9’s game, at odds of 1 in 696,000.

For selling the claimed ticket, Shri Khodiyar Inc. in Travelers Rest received a commission of $2,500.
