Im retiring, says Lotterys $1 Million Woodruff Winner

COLUMBIA, SC (April 22, 2015) A Woodruff woman got an early retirement present.

On Tuesday, she cashed in a $1 million winning lottery ticket and in the process said goodbye to her job.

Im retiring, she said. Im done.

Now shell have more time to drive her grandson to playdates, like she was doing Saturday when she stopped for gas and snacks at the Lil Cricket 3810 on S. Main St. in Woodruff.

I had decided not to buy a lottery ticket but at the last minute changed my mind, she said.

She dropped her grandson off and sat at the end of the driveway scratching the $10 Million Dollar Series ticket. The last number uncovered won her the $1 million.

It was a blur, she said. I was screaming.

Once the excitement dies down, she says shell settle right into retirement, but being a millionaire will take some getting used to.

The odds of winning $1 million in the Million Dollar Series game are 1 in 1,600,000.

One top prize of $1 million remains in the Million Dollar Series game. Players can enter non-winning tickets online at sclottery.com for a chance to win $1 million in a final drawing.

For selling the claimed ticket, Lil Cricket 3810 in Woodruff received a commission of $10,000.
