COLUMBIA, SC (December 2, 2014) A Myrtle Beach tourist won $200,000 in a Thanksgiving Day drawing.

His wife went shopping on Black Friday.

The winner, a North Carolina resident, drove back to South Carolina yesterday to cash in his winning Palmetto Cash 5 ticket (8, 9, 26, 36, and 38).

I plan to visit more often, he said.

Spending the extra $1 for Power-Up doubled his $100,000 prize to $200,000.

Odds of winning $200,000 playing Palmetto Cash 5 are 1 in 1,003,884.

For selling the claimed ticket, Murphy USA #5731 in Myrtle Beach received a commission of $2,000.

To date, lottery play has resulted in more than $3.5 billion transferred to support education.
