Cayce Man Wins $1 MILLION on the Way Home
10/17/2014 9:59:33 AM

COLUMBIA, SC (October 17, 2014) – A Cayce man won $1 MILLION on his drive home from work yesterday.

On the way, he stopped at convenience stores he passed to buy lottery tickets and cash in his winnings. A winning ticket he cashed in for $10 at the Gasway II on Farrow Rd. in Columbia paid for the $1,000,000 Fortune scratch-off that won him a $1 million prize.

“I didn’t jump up and down,” he said. “But I had an excited look on my face.”

Instead of home, he drove straight to the Lottery’s claims center to deliver the ticket.

The millionaire told lottery officials he wasn’t one to splurge but would help his children.

“I’ll get to do something for myself too,” he said.

The winner overcame odds of 1 in 1.4 million to become the second lottery millionaire in the $1,000,000 Fortune game. One $1 million prize remains on the ticket.

For selling the claimed ticket, Gasway II in Columbia received a commission of $10,000.

Non-winning $1,000,000 Fortune tickets can be entered online or by mail for a drawing to win a $1 million prize. For complete details, visit sceducationlottery.com.
