$75,000 Win Raises Winners Blood Pressure
7/30/2014 8:41:01 AM

COLUMBIA, SC (July 30, 2014) A $75,000 lottery win had a Johnston woman reaching for her blood pressure medicine.

I had to take an extra pill, she said. I was so excited and nervous.

Her hands were shaking when she turned over the winning Heritage Classic Foundation scratch-off to lottery officials in Columbia.

Ive never won anything in my life, she said.

But that changed when her husband gave her $5 to spend. She paid $3 for the winning Heritage ticket at the Kangaroo Express #3256 on Edgefield Rd. in North Augusta. She won enough to buy herself a new car and take her husband on a trip to the mountains.

I dont care for the beach, she admitted.

So why buy a lottery ticket showcasing Hilton Head Island?

The store clerk picked the ticket for her.

All three top prizes of $75,000 to be won on the ticket have been claimed. Odds of winning the top prize were 1 in 520,000.

For selling the claimed ticket, Kangaroo Express #3256 in North Augusta received a commission of $750.

Players can continue entering non-winning Heritage Classic Foundation tickets online and by mail for a second-chance drawing to win $75,000.
