7/17/2014 9:48:56 AM

COLUMBIA, SC (July 17, 2014) – A Powerball® ticket worth $1 MILLION was purchased from the Garden Spot 4 at 601 E. Lee Rd. in Taylors for Wednesday night’s drawing.

The ticket sold in Taylors matched all five white ball numbers drawn. Had the ticket holder purchased PowerPlay® for an extra $1, the $1 million prize would have increased to $2 MILLION.

Powerball® – Wednesday, July 16
5, 15, 18, 26, and 32 Powerball®: 35

Check your tickets. More than 7,300 players in South Carolina hold tickets for prizes from $4 up to $1 MILLION. Of these, more than 3,100 players purchased PowerPlay® to see their non-jackpot winnings, excluding the Match 5 prize, multiplied by three. Players have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes. For complete information on claiming prizes, visit sceducationlottery.com.

The odds of winning $1 million are 1 in 5,153,633.

This isn’t Taylor’s first $1 million win. In February, the Li’l Cricket 3882 on Wade Hampton Blvd. in Taylors sold a $1 million winning Powerball® ticket to an area couple.

The estimated jackpot for Saturday night’s drawing is $60 million.

Proceeds from every dollar spent by players on the South Carolina Education Lottery are returned to the state in the form of funding for education, prizes, retailer commissions, and payment to contractors for goods and services.
