COLUMBIA, SC (July 17, 2014) – A Liberty woman found more than spare change at the bottom of her purse. Cleaning out her bag she stumbled upon a lottery ticket worth $200,000.

“I about had a heart attack,” she said after checking to see that the crumpled up ticket matched every single number drawn in Palmetto Cash 5’s Saturday drawing (13, 16, 28, 31 and 32).

“Honey, I think we won the Lottery,” she screamed.

The couple took off from work to deliver the ticket to the Lottery’s office in Columbia.

“I’m still so nervous,” the winner told lottery officials waiting for her name to be called to accept her winnings.

Spending the extra $1 for Power-Up doubled her $100,000 prize to $200,000.

Odds of winning $200,000 playing Palmetto Cash 5 are 1 in 1,003,884.

For selling the claimed ticket, Anderson BP in Anderson received a commission of $2,000.

To date, lottery play has resulted in more than $3.4 billion transferred to support education.
