Greenville Couple Keeping Lottery Win Secret from the Kids
4/23/2014 9:27:34 AM

COLUMBIA, SC (April 23, 2014) – A Greenville husband and wife are both taking credit for a $200,000 lottery win.

“I picked out the ticket,” the husband said.

“But I scratched it,” the wife stated.

“I paid for it,” reminded the husband.

One thing they both agree on, they aren’t telling the kids.

The wife says she froze when she scratched off a $200,000 prize standing inside the GT Express Mart on White Horse Rd. Her husband led her out of the store and drove straight to Columbia to cash in the Maximum Money ticket that’s their down payment on a new home.

“It was overwhelming,” the wife said.

“No, it was our lucky day,” the husband said.

Three $200,000 prizes remain in the $10 Maximum Money game. Odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 600,000.

For selling the claimed ticket, GT Express Mart in Greenville received a commission of $2,000.
