With No Winner, Mega Millions® Jackpot Grows to $400 MILLION
3/17/2014 10:03:17 AM

COLUMBIA, SC (March 17, 2014) – The third-highest jackpot in Mega Millions® history and the seventh largest ever offered in the U.S. draws tomorrow night. The advertised pot is $400 million.

Only two other Mega Millions® jackpots and three others posted by Powerball® were heftier, the biggest a $656 million Mega Millions® jackpot in March 2012.

Sales are brisk in South Carolina, where Friday night’s drawing saw more than 65,000 players win anywhere from $1 to $15,000. Of these, over 20,000 winners purchased the Megaplier® option and will see their prizes multiplied by three.

South Carolinians looking to take a chance on a $400 million jackpot with a reported cash payout of $224 million can buy a ticket for $1 at most convenience stores and grocery stores in our state. Mega Millions® tickets must be purchased by 10 p.m. Tuesday.

The odds of winning the jackpot are long, about one in 259 million.

Please, play responsibly, South Carolina!
