Changes to Mega Millions® Drive Jackpot to $353 Million
3/13/2014 11:24:26 AM

COLUMBIA, SC (March 13, 2014) – Moves made by Mega Millions® in October to turnout bigger, faster growing jackpots and more millionaires have culminated in a $353 MILLION jackpot, the games 5th largest, for Friday night.

In December Mega Millions® delivered a $648 million present as evidence the changes were real and the result has been 94 new millionaires, one in South Carolina.

The response in our state to the new Mega Millions® has been positive considering last Tuesday’s drawing saw more than 50,000 players win anywhere from $1 to $20,000.

Should a winner emerge Friday night in South Carolina, it will be our first. They will have a choice between an annuity for the full jackpot amount or a cash payout of $194 million.

Odds of winning the jackpot are long, about 1 in 259 million.

South Carolinians looking to take a chance on the $353 million jackpot must purchase a $1 Mega Millions® ticket by 10 p.m. on Friday for the 11 p.m. drawing.

South Carolina, please, play responsibly.
