$250 Grand Winner LOL
11/26/2013 9:47:20 AM

COLUMBIA, SC (November 26, 2013) – A Greenwood man laughed out loud when he won the Lottery.

“There is no way this is real,” he told himself. “I was waiting for the camera crews to jump out and tell me I’d been punked.”

Friday the young man got off work and stopped at the Quick Pantry on Calhoun Ave. in Greenwood to buy a lottery ticket with his spare change. Jokingly, he asked a woman leaving the store if she’d bought all the winning tickets. She left him one, aptly named $250 Grand.

Sitting out in what is soon to be his former car, he scratched the $10 ticket to win $250,000.

“I’m headed to the closest Chevrolet dealership,” he said.

From there he’s laughing all the way to the bank.

Odds of winning one of the three top prizes that remains in the $250 Grand game are 1 in 576,000.

For selling the claimed winning ticket, Quick Pantry 16 in Greenwood received a commission of $2,500.

Since the start of the Lottery in 2002, more than one million college scholarships and grants have been awarded to South Carolina’s students. In all, more than $3.2 BILLION has been transferred to support educational programs in the Palmetto State.
