8/19/2013 9:48:54 AM

COLUMBIA, SC (August 19, 2013) A farmer in Coward looked up from his tractor and saw his wifes car driving through the field towards him.

I thought she was bringing me a drink of water, he said.

Instead she handed him a lottery ticket.

Is this real? she asked.

Yes. His wife won $100,000 in the South Carolina Education Lottery.

The farmer smiled thankful for more than just the break in the rain that allowed him to get the field planted.

Im paying off everything, he said.

As of this release, two top prizes remain in the $5 Kings Ransom game. Odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 400,000.

For selling the claimed ticket, Amoco Food Shop #10 in Lake City received a commission of $1,000.

To date, lottery play has resulted in more than $3.1 billion transferred to support education.
