6/24/2013 12:01:07 PM

COLUMBIA, SC (June 24, 2013) – The fish were biting, but a Fairfax man reeled in his biggest catch on the ride home from his fishing trip.

Thirsty, he stopped for a soda at the Ezzy Stop on the Allendale Hampton Hwy. and bought a $5 lottery ticket. Out in his truck he scratched the ticket to win $125,000.

At home he found his wife sitting down and ordered her not to get up. Then he broke the news.

“You won’t believe this,” he said, handing over the winning Giant Jumbo Bucks ticket.

She cried.

Neither of them slept that night. The husband was thinking about being debt free. His wife was awake planning a house remodel.

As of this release, six top prizes of $125,000 remain in the $5 Giant Jumbo Bucks game. Odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 495,000.

For selling the claimed ticket, Ezzy Stop in Fairfax received a commission of $1,250.

To date, lottery play has resulted in more than $3.1 BILLION transferred to support education.
