Columbia Truck Driver Tops off His Tank and Wallet, Winning $200,000

COLUMBIA, SC (May 23, 2013) – A Columbia truck driver thought he was doing well when he beat the 1 in 55 odds to win $12 on Powerball®. He bettered that a week later overcoming odds of 1 in 600,000 to win $200,000 on a scratch-off.

He scratched the ticket while filling up his truck at the Gaz-Bah on Bluff Rd. in Columbia. He called his boss, who told him to take the truck on to collect the winnings.

The winner is paying off his house and treating the guys at work to breakfast.

As of this release, one top prize of $200,000 remains in the ($10) $200,000 Jackpot game. The odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 600,000.

For selling the claimed ticket, Gaz-Bah #001 in Columbia received a commission of $2,000.

Since the start of the Lottery in 2002, more than one million college scholarships and grants have been awarded to South Carolina’s students. In all, more than $3 BILLION has been transferred to support educational programs in the Palmetto State.
