4/30/2013 9:24:40 AM

COLUMBIA, SC (April 30, 2013) – With dueling jackpots, lottery players have plenty to be excited about this week. Tonight South Carolinians can play for a chance at a $114 million Mega Millions® jackpot and tomorrow night try for the $165 million Powerball® top prize.

“Having two jackpots advertised at more than $100 million is thrilling,” said the Lottery’s Director Paula Harper Bethea. “We want players to have fun and, above all, play responsibly.”

Mega Millions® Jackpot - $114 MILLION, cash value $86 million
Tickets must be purchased by 10 p.m. tonight for the 11 p.m. Mega Millions® drawing. Tickets are $1 and available wherever tickets are sold. South Carolina has yet to produce a Mega Millions® jackpot winner. Players may purchase Megaplier® for an extra dollar. The Megaplier® option will multiply non-jackpot prizes by the Megaplier® number drawn (2-4).

Powerball® Jackpot - $165 MILLION, cash value $107 million
Tickets for Wednesday’s Powerball® drawing must be purchased by 9:59 p.m. for the 10:59 p.m. drawing. Powerball tickets are $2. South Carolina has sold six Powerball® jackpot winning tickets. For an extra dollar, players may purchase PowerPlay®, which will increase any non-jackpot prizes won to a set amount.

Odds of winning either jackpot are about 1 in 176 million.

Good luck, South Carolina.
